Rural Community Buildings in England 2009 - Key Findings
The preliminary report of ACRE’s latest national survey of rural community buildings is available here. This shows that 90% are charities run by local volunteer trustees – a management style unique in Europe. This report updates data from two previous surveys in 1988 and 1998. ACRE is extremely grateful to the trustees of 2,355 halls, 24% of those contacted, who gave up time to complete the survey. SERCC is very grateful to those who kindly consented for information to be entered into this database.
